Earlier this year, at the Brisbania Public Scool Presentation Day, Freemasons on the Central Coast presented scholarships to two Year 5 Students.
All the students from Year 1 to Year 5 were seated with anticipation as Ms Parrey, School Principal, together with the local State Member of Parliament, Adam Crouch, President of the P&C, and representatives from Erina High School, Rotary and Freemasons on the Central Coast (FotCC), took their seats on the stage.
After the students sang the school song, the School Leadership Team took charge.
Commencing with ‘Welcome to Country’, each teacher presented to their class certificates for diligence, effort, and helpfulness to their fellow classmates and then Ms Parrey made a presentation to the Dux of the School.
Next came presentations to the champion athletes and the winning sporting houses, followed by extra curriculer activities, including: chess, volunteering within the community and the RoboCup.
This is the second year Brisbania Public School have entered the Robocup, the previous year saw FotCC help with travel costs. The current team includes six boys from Year 4. Split into two teams of three boys, they are required to build a robot and then programme the robot to move and kick a ball.
The team came 1st and 3rd at Regionals, 1st and 3rd at State and 4th and 6th at Nationals – A fantastic result.
Mr Graeme Ingall from FotCC was called upon to present a certificate to each of the team members. He congratulated the boys and wished the team even greater success next year.
Since 2009, as well as various material donations to the school, FotCC have provided scholarships to two Year 5 students to assist them with their Year 6 education. This year the scholarships were presented to Chace and Isla.
