Community Centre Donations

Freemasons on the Central Coast (FotCC) have donated items to numerous Community and Neighbourhood Centres. Below are a few recent examples:

Narara Community Centre

Vivian Muraahi, CEO of Community Support & Outreach & Services Central Coast Ltd, approached FotCC for a large television and sound bar for their Hall. She explained how they assist the Narara community through the Centre and how important the TV package was in supporting different local groups and clubs with their presentations, but also to attract new hirers to raise desperately needed revenue for the Centre. Vivian is pictured above with Directors from FotCC.

Berkeley Vale & Bateau Bay Neighbourhood Centres Inc

Berkeley Vale Neighbourhood Centre operates vibrant community centres, including. Berkeley Vale and Bateau Bay Neighbourhood Centres, Berkeley Vale Community Garden and an Out of School Hours Care. They are at the heart of the community, supporting people doing it tough – with food relief needs up 400% due to the cost-of-living and rental crisis. They also run essential programs for children, families, and community groups.

Ang Cooli was the coordinator who organised the application form for the Berkeley Vale Centre, but unfortunately due to COVID she wasn’t able to attend the annual Christmas appreciation lunch for the sponsors, donors, local support organisations, volunteer helpers, board members and staff at their sister Centre at Bateau Bay. The donated technology was needed to keep them up to date with software upgrades etc. which their current equipment was no longer able to manage.

The event was hosted by their Board President, Jenny, who welcomed everybody, thanked the people and organisations for their ongoing support and outlined some of the Centre’s recent achievements.
They currently have 200 plus regular clients who visit for meals, food, clothing and other support which takes up a lot of the 30 staff and many volunteers time. She expressed her gratitude for their amazing contribution to the communities of Bateau Bay and Berkeley Vale whilst also reminding those present of how much support the local people still needed.
Jenny also noted how proud they all were when recently able to distribute, to local children, Christmas toys that at one point filled up over half their floor space. Once the space was clear it was very quickly utilised for the next project of distributing 150 Christmas hampers.

Jenny introduced FotCC Director Leigh Pollard to the gathering and described how important their relationship with Freemasons on the Central Coast had become with assistance given on a number of projects. Leigh then went on to explain that FotCC will always support Central Coast organisations who provide support to our community.

Pricing Support for the Central Coast Community

JB Hi-Fi Tuggerah

On the right of the photo is Paul the Store Manager and in the centre is Curtiss who is an In-Store Manager.

These two gentlemen are extremely helpful with providing the best advice on technology to ensure the product fits the application, has the best warranty and fits your budget. As you can imagine they had to be very patient with someone who used a slide rule and abacus at school and only got their first calculator in Year 11!

Once they were aware of who the donations were for, and we had selected the right products, for they provided exceptional pricing for our purchases to support those local Central Coast Community Centres.
They were also very humble in this assistance and didn’t ask for anything in return, but we would like to recognise their contribution and charitable assistance.
