$6,000 for the Gosford Hospital Special Care Nursery
From steam trains and sausages to life saving equipment.
On the first Saturday of each month you can find Freemasons from The Central Coast Lodge 2001 (TCCL) and Freemasons on the Central Coast (FotCC) at the Central Coast Miniature Steam Railway on Showground Road, Narara. It’s a relationship that has flourished for a long time. The Freemasons provide sausage sandwiches and drinks to the families who attend and ride on the Steam Trains and the money they make is all donated to a local charity.
For a few months now the funds raised have been collected for the Gosford Hospital Special Care Nursery, the facility that provides care for premature and unwell babies over 32 weeks gestation, to purchase much needed equipment to help with their treatment.
A total of $3,000 was raised which was doubled by Masonicare, the Masonic Grand Lodge Charity, and presented to Ms Carmen Bonny, Clinic Nurse Educator, and Ms Lynette Hill, Director – Women, Children and Families.
At the presentation the Freemasons were given a special tour of the nursery, which has rooms for parents who stay overnight, humidicribs of all sizes and other specialized equipment that our donation will help to provide and maintain.
Both Lynette and Carmen thanked the Masons present for the donation to the Special Care Nursery.
To date, the partnership of Freemasons on the Central Coast and the Central Coast Lodge has donated $12,000 to Gosford Hospital Special Care Nursery. Individually, Freemasons on the Central Coast has contributed over $46,000 to Gosford Hospital.
